CLARENCE R. SCOTT |
Pvt Kenneth D. Scott and Pvt. Clarence R. Scott have
arrived safely In France according to word received by Mrs. Kenneth
Scott The brothers who entered the service in June 1944 are in a
paratrooper division.

Grave 10, Memorial Cemetery, Fremont (Dodge), Nebraska.
Clarence registered for the draft in Fremont, NE on 1
July 1941. He was inducted into the Army at Fort Leavenworth, KS
on 20 June 1944.
Pfc Scott was transferred from the 17th Airborne
Division to Co E, 508th PIR on 21 August 1945.
On 23 January 1946, he
and his brother Kenneth (lines 61 and 62) arrived in New York, NY with
Company D, 504th PIR from Southampton, England aboard SS Queen Mary.

Clarence Bud Scott
The funeral for Clarence R. Bud Scott, 77, of Fremont will be 10:30 a.m.
Monday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.
He died Thursday, March 13, 1997, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont
Scott was born Dec. 3, 1919, in Fremont He grew up in Cedar Bluffs. He
married Norma Shafer Oct. 21, 1939, in Ogallala. He served in the U.S.
Army in the 82nd Airborne from June 26, 1944 to Jan. 17, 1946, and
served in the Rhineland and Central Europe. He received two Bronze Stars
and the Combat Infantry Badge. After his discharge, he lived in western
Nebraska until coming to Fremont in 1948. He had been a welder at Scott
Valmont Industries in Valley for 20 years before retiring in 1985. His
wife died Feb. 18, 1995.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854 of Fremont and
Fremont Anglers Club. Survivors include three daughters, Betty (Mrs.
Bob) Beran and Cindy (Mrs. Leonard) Kovar, both of Fremont, and Karen
(Mrs. Kenneth) Bentz of Independence, Mo.; seven grandchildren and eight
great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers.
The Rev. Brian Kottas will officiate Monday's service. Visitation
will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday, 1-9 p.m. Sunday, and 9 a.m. until time of
service Monday, all at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont Military
graveside services will be conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of the
Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 854 and American Legion Post 20 at
Memorial Cemetery in Fremont
A memorial has been established to First United Methodist Church of
Fremont.
