Mr. Noah A. Scott, 82, of High Falls, formerly of Clayton County, passed away on Friday, December 23, 2011.
Mr. Scott was born in Greenville, Fla., on November 6, 1929, to the late Marvin Blocker and the late Minnie Scott.
Mr. Scott was a retired Sgt. 1st Class from the United States Army, after 23 years of service. He also served in Vietnam, was trained, and was a member of the 101st Airborne Paratrooper's Screaming Eagles.
He was awarded the Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal and the M-14 Expert Rifle Medal.
After his military career, he also retired from the City of Atlanta, Water Division.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Evelyn Scott; daughter, Susan Pierce; son, Wayne Scott; stepchildren, Billy Gammons, Bob Hinton, Mike Hinton; grandchildren, Scott Spann, Becky Lake; step-grandchildren, Zak Hinton, Alex Hinton; 5 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were conducted at the chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home. The Rev. Gene Luke officiated. At the conclusion of the service, there were military honors.
