RUDOLPH C. SCOTT

   CAMP RODRIGUEZ, Io. --- MSgt Rudolph Scott of Augusta, now serving with the 1st bn, 508th Inf., 3rd Bde, 82nd Airborne div., achieved his current rank August 12.
    A graduate of Evans High school, MSgt Scott worked as a truck driver for the O. T. Moody co. before enlisting in the Army. May 2 1951.
   He is married to the former Miss Martha K. Kitchens, daughter of Mrs. J. L. Kitchens, Sr. of [Augusta.]  Mrs. Scott now lives at 3152 Haven Ct., Fayetteville, NC.
   In 17 years [of] military service. MSgt Scott has accumulated the Master Parachutist Badge, Soldiers Medal, Army occupational (Germany), Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Bronze Star with "V" device.

It probably should have read as "Camp Rodriguez, Ko as there is a Rodriquez Live Fire Range, a 3,390-acre training complex outside the city of Pocheon, one of the few places that U.S. forces can conduct live-fire training in South Korea.]



MR. RUDOLPH SCOTT
   Augusta Chronicle, The (GA) - Tuesday, August 28, 2001 Mr. Rudolph C. "Scottie" Scott, 68, entered into rest on Sunday, August 26, 2001, at the Dwight D. Eisenhower Medical Center.
    Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, August 29, 2001, at 3 p.m. in Westover Memorial Park with Reverend Landon T. Carey officiating.
   Mr. Scott, a native of Augusta, retired from the military after 23 years of service and during that time served our country in Korea and Vietnam. Mr. Scott was a member of the Martinez Bass Masters Club and the Disabled American Veterans.
   He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Martha Kitchens Scott of Augusta; his son, Douglas Rudolph Scott of Evans; his sister, Marguerite Scott Corey of Elmira, New York; his two brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward A. (Carolyn) Scott, Martinez and Eugene (Peggy) Scott, Valdosta; his sister-in-law, Faye Scott and numerous nieces and nephews.
   Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his brother, Robert A. Scott and his parents, Rev. C.R. and Beatrice Scott.
   The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6 until 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia Sheriff Youth Home, Post Office Box 1000, Stockbridge, Georgia 30281. Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road.

Rudolph first enlisted in the Army on 2 May 1951 and was discharged on 25 April 1953. 

After a brief break in service, he re-enlisted on 21 July 1953 and served continuously until retiring on 3 November 1971.

Rudolph  died on 26 Aug 2001 and was buried in  Westover Memorial Park, Augusta (Richmond county), Georgia.
