KENNETH R. SCROGUM

Kent Scrogum, of Throckmorton, Texas passed away at his home, Monday morning, April 21, 2014, in Throckmorton. He was 70 years old.
   Funeral services will be held Friday, April 25, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Throckmorton with Rev. Charles Fisher officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his mother, Tressie, at the Throckmorton Cemetery in Throckmorton immediately following the services.
   Kent was born February 18, 1944, in Bowie, Texas to Tressie Vee (Cook) and William Otis "Dub" Scrogum.
   After graduation from high school, Kent left to serve in the United States Army and served his time in Vietnam. Kent was honorably discharged, and with distinction, awarded 2 Purple Hearts, 2 Bronze Stars and the Army Commendation Medal.
   On May 10, 1969 he married Pamela Louise Pittcock in Wichita, Texas. They had one child: Shawn. They were married 12 years before divorcing on October 23, 1981. They remained life long friends.
   He married Gwendolyn "Sissy" Hall on April 14, 1988, in Throckmorton. They had one child: Monty.
   He loved being a cowboy and enjoyed playing dominoes and solitaire. Kent was a member of the First Baptist Church.
   He is preceded in death by his parents, Dub and Tressie Scrogum.
   Kent is survived by his wife of 26 years, Sissy, of Throckmorton; his 2 sons, Shawn Scrogum of Archer City, and Monty Scrogum of Throckmorton; 4 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; sister, Joyce Dyer of Clyde.
