WILLIAM E. SHERER

Grave marker of William E. Sherer in Union Cemetery, Louisville (Stark county), Ohio.

William enlisted in the Army at Akron, OH on 24 November 1942.

On 17 December 1942, Pvt Sherer was transferred from camp Toccoa, FA to Hq 3rd, 508th PIR.

On 30 November 1943 he was promoted to Pfc.

Pfc Sherer was discharged on 19 Dec 1945.  His military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for participation in the Normandy assault.
