EARL H. SIEVERS |
At Youngstown, Fla., near Panama City, Carl H. Sievers, 32,
his wife Margaret, 28, and their dour-year-old daughter, Cherie, were
hospitalized with bruises and abrasions received ib a freak tornado that

Earl enlisted in the army at Camp Dodge,
Herrold, IA on 8 March 1945.
Pvt Sievers was transferred from 82nd
Airborne Division to Company F, 508th PIR on 15 October 1945.
He was discharged on 19 April 1946.
Earl submitted this application for the
Iowa WWII Veterans Bonus pm 2 May 1949. It reveals that he began his
service with Company B, 80th Tank Battalion and had served with the 504th
PIR before arriving in the 598th, |

Services for Earl Henry Sievers, 52,
off 2503 S.E. Eight St., will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hamilton's
Funeral Home, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Sievers was killed in an auto accident near Versailles, Mo.
A truck driver for Admiral Merchants Motor Freight, Inc., Mr.
Sievers was born in Sigourney and had lived in des Moines 21 years. He
was a member of Teamsters Union Locxal 147, Antique Airplane association and
Experimental Airplane Association.
He s survived by his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Mrs. Cherie
wads worth and Mrs.. Georgia Patterson, both of Des Moines; two brothers,
Arthur of Junction City, Kan. and Irvin of Richland, Ia.; three sisters,
Mrs. Shirley List of Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs Betty soll of Leon and Mrs. Jeanne
Tygart of Hayesville, Ia., and three grandchildren.
