JACK M. SOSBY

Passenger List, Queen Mary
Jack Sosby is the first entry

Jack M. Sosby enlisted in the Army at Ft Jackson, Columbia, SC on 11 August 1943.  After completion of basic training and jump school he was shipped to England.

Pvt Sosby was transferred from the 11th Replacement Depot to Hq 2nd, 508th PIR on 10 August 1944

On 19 December 1944, one day after the regiment was called up for the Battle of the Bulge, Pvt Sosby was hospitalized as a non-battle casualty, perhaps due to frostbite.  He remained in a field hospital until 4 April 19545 when he was transferred to hospital in the rear, probably in the U.K.

On 3 January 1946 Pvt Sosby arrived in New York City harbor aboard the Queen Mary after sailing from Southampton, England on December 28th, 1945.  He was discharged on 17 January 1946
