Hector A. Soucy    
PhotoSOUCY, HECTOR A., 76, of Town Farm Road, Coventry, died on Monday, April 13, 2009 at home. He was the husband of Roberta T. (Gorsline) Soucy.

Born in Coventry, a son of the late Hector H. and Bertha A. (Duchesneau) Soucy, he lived in Coventry for 53 years. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War, and served as a paratrooper with the 508 Airborne Regimental Combat Team, the 101 Airborne Screaming Eagles, and the 82nd Airborne All American.

Mr. Soucy was employed at the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics in North Kingstown for 11 years, retiring in 1994 as a senior planner in materials control. He was previously employed at United Wire in Cranston for 27 years.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Rebecca A. Preston of Narragansett and Brenda S. Nault of Coventry; two brothers, Normand Soucy of Florida and Robert Soucy of Charlestown; and four grandchildren.

His funeral will be held on Saturday, April 18, at 8 a.m. from the Potvin & Cotter Funeral Home, 45 Curson Street, West Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in Ss. John & Paul Church, South Main Street, Coventry. Visiting hours are Friday 4-7 p.m. Burial will be in Hopkins Hollow Cemetery in Greene.
