SILVIO N. SPAGNA

Grave marker for Silvio N. Spagna in Plot 16, Grave 3954 of the Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton (Suffolk county), New York.

Silvio enlisted at Harrisburg, PA on 7 October 1943. Following completion of jump school, Pvt Spagna was assigned to the 11th Replacement Depot in Leicester, England. 

On 10 August 1944 he was transferred to Company H, 508th PIR which was then in Nottingham.  He was subsequently transferred to Service Company

Pvt Spagna was wounded in action in Holland on/or about 18 November 1944 but was able to return to the regiment after hospitalization.  He was promoted to Pfc in January 1945.
