CONARD O. SPRINGWATER |

Conard O. Springwater, 81, passed away Saturday, Feb. 3, in Shawnee.
He was born on Nov. 26, 1925, in Gans, Okla.
Conard was raised in Seminole where he graduated from Seminole High School.
He went to Oklahoma Baptist University and Oklahoma University. He was a
master mason for fifty years and was a Southern Baptist ordained Deacon.
Conard served in the U.S. Army during WW-II, The Korean Conflict and
European Theatre as a master sergeant and a squad leader with the 508th
parachute company and the 82nd airborne division, F company. He also was a
platoon sergeant in the 120th Engineering Company, 45th infantry.
He worked for ten years at Southern California Edison Power Company where he
was a broker/dispatcher. He retired after 27 years from the federal
government as a Power Systems Broker working on government dams.
He received a distinguished career service award from the U.S. Dept. of
Energy.
He and his wife received a distinguished leadership award in 1998 from
Oklahoma Baptist University.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter; Connie Lynn
Springwater Ludwig in November 1995; and two sisters Helen Hart and Ruth
Roby.
Survivors include his wife, Wanda of the home; one brother, Bert Springwater
of Shawnee; two grandchildren, Lawrence and Linda Ludwig of Colorado; and
numerous, nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Swearingen Funeral Chapel with the
Rev. Carl Whitfield officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery |
