JOSEPH L. SPROULL

Grave marker for Joseph L. Sproull in the Saint Mary's Cemetery, Lower Burrell (Westmoreland), Pennsylvania.

Joseph enlisted in the Army on October 24, 1942 at Greensburg, PA.

On 21 November 1944 he was appointed to the rank of Corporal.  Cpl Sproull participated in the Holland jump and then went into combat again the the Battle of the Bulge.

On 17 February 1945, Cpl Sproull was evacuated to a field hospital as a non-combat injury, perhaps due to frostbite.  He rejoined the company three days later..

His military decorations include the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations
