Death Certificate and grave marker for Ernie E. Stacy in Grove Hill Memorial Park, Dallas (Dallas county), Texas.

On 23 February 1940, Ernie was imprisoned for 180 days after a Manslaughter, 2nd Degree conviction.  He was released on 18 September 1940.

Then on 23 June 1943 Ernie enlisted in the Army at Camp Shelby, MS.

Pvt Stacy was listed as slightly injured in action as of 11 June 1944. He was evacuated to the 3097th Field Hospital

Ernie as promoted to Pfc on 18 July 1944.

On 7 January 1945 Pfc Stacy was wounded in action and once again evacuated to a field hospital. He did not return to the regiment.

Pfc Stacy's military decorations include the Purple Heart, the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for participation in Normandy assault and the Good Conduct Medal.
