CARL T. STEERUP
Death Certificate

states that Carl died from a CVA - Cerebrovascular Accident, a form of stroke.

He had been part owner of a printing company.

   PLYMOUTH - Carl T. Steerup, 86, of 12602 Plymouth-Goshen Road, died at 8 p.m. April 12 in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center.  Survivors include his wife, Winifred of Northbrook, IL.; a son, Michael of Northbrook; a sister, Ruth Martindale of Hinsdale, IL.; and a brother, Paul of Northfield, IL. There will be no services or visitation. Van Gilder Funeral Home is handling arrangements.

Carl registered for the draft in Chicago, IL on 16 October 1940 and was inducted at Chicago on 30 June 1942.
   Pvt Steerup was assigned to Service Co 508th PIR but the date of his arrival is not known.
   On 11 August 1944, he was promoted to Pfc and on 29 October 1944 he was elevated to Corporal.  He was discharged in 1946.
   Carl's remains were cremated, the disposition of his ashes is not known.
