THOMAS STEINBACK

Thomas "Tom" Steinback was born August 16, 1935 in Longmont, Colorado to Albert Steinback and Virginia Jackman Steinback.

Tom passed away at his home on December 31, 2012 in Lake Arthur, New Mexico. Tom was born in Longmont, Colorado and spent his early years in Denver, Colorado with his family.

He joined the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was very proud of being an Airborne soldier. While in the army he married Elizabeth Betty Steinback, his wife of 56 years.

Tom moved to California to be with his father and siblings where he worked in the space industry and his children were born. He enjoyed history, woodworking, fishing, and spending time with his grand and great-grand children.

Tom is survived by his wife, Betty of the family home; his children, Marvin Steinback of Denham Springs, LA; Jim Steinback of Artesia, NM, Cyndi Buck and Christy Weiler of Lake Arthur, NM. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Virgina Steinback, his brother Donny and his sisters Marcella, Joyce and Peggy.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that monetary donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the Disabled American Veterans.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory. Private viewing for the family will be held at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and graveside services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 5, 2013 at South Park Cemetery, 3101 South Main in Roswell, NM with Hospice Chaplain Cecil Kimberlin officiating. Services are under the direction of Anderson Bethany Funeral Home and Crematory.
