Jacob G. Stoe, 74, of Lancaster, entered into rest on Thursday, December
29, 2005 at LGH*.
Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Andrew W. and Helen
(Newman) Stoe.
He was married to Marguerite A. "Peg" Furlow, on July 4, 1952. Mrs. Stoe
survives at their home. He was Deputy Fire Chief for the City of
Lancaster retiring in January of 1983 with over 26 years of service.
Mr. Stoe was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from 1951 to 1954 and
served in the Korean War. He was a member of the Keystone Fire Chiefs
Association, Lancaster County Firefighters Association, American Legion
Post 34, and the Eighth Ward Club. He also enjoyed woodworking and
gardening.
Surviving in addition to his wife, is three daughters, Dawne M.
Windlebleck and her husband, Kurt, of Lancaster, Melissa J. Wissler of
Missouri, and Jan L. Lipinsky and her husband, Paul, of Landisville, PA.
He will also be lovingly missed by five grandchildren, and two brothers,
Fred Stoe and Dike Stoe, both of Lancaster, as well as numerous nieces,
nephews, extended family and caring friends.
Memorial Services will be held at the Andrew T. Scheid Funeral Home, 320
Blue Rock Road, Route 999, Millersville, PA on Thursday, January 5, 2006
at 10:00 AM with Rev. Dr. J. Val Hastings, Sr., officiating. Interment
will be held at a later date. The family will receive friends at
Scheid's on Thursday between 9 and 10 AM. Flowers will be received.
Memorial Remembrances can be made in Jacob's memory to Hospice of
Lancaster County.
