Time to step
down, take advantage of retirement benefits
Dear editor, December 31,1994.
I will
have completed more than 40 yean of public service including
military service, civil service, state and city government
and 30 years with Coryell County. It is time for me to take
advantage of the retirement benefits I believe I have earned.
This letter is to inform you, the citizens, that I plan to retire at
the end of this term and not seek reelection to another
term of office as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2.
I thank the people of Precinct 2 for allowing me to serve as Justice
of the Peace for the past 17 years. I thank the people of
the City of Copperas Cove for allowing me to serve as Municipal
Court Judge for 1 1/2 years and I also thank the people of
Coryell County for allowing me to serve as County Judge
of this County for 12 years. My friends and supporters have
been very kind io me and my family by electing and returning
me to these offices time after time.
I will always cherish my assoc-iation with the many friends and acquaintances
of this county as well as the elected officials and employees
that I have had the privilege of serving with over the years.
If in the future I can be of service to any one. please do not hesitate
io call me.

Judge Norman Clifford Storm
Judge Norman
Clifford Storm, of Lampasas, and a former Coryell County judge, died
Dec. 21 at his residence. He was 74. Funeral services were held
Tuesday at the Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home Chapel with Minister
Elvis Fisher officiating. Burial was in the Copperas Cove City
Cemetery.
Judge Storm was born
Dec. 14, 1923, in Young County to the late William Washington Storm
and Ada Ruth Grantham Storm. He married Wanda Fowler on March
1,1942. During World War II, he was a paratrooper with the 82nd
Airborne Division.
He worked as a
patrolman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, and in 1959 he
was elected as county judge in Coryell County. He served in that
capacity for 12 years. He moved to Copperas Cove in 1976 and was
appointed justice of the peace for Precinct 2 and served in that
post for 17 years, retiring in December 1994. He also served as a
municipal judge in Copperas Cove in the mid-1980s. In December 1996,
he moved to Lampasas and opened Storm Real Estate. He was active in
ranching all of his life.
He was a 32nd Degree
Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners. He served as
judge advocate of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign
Wars in Copperas Cove, He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He was preceded in
death by a son, Ronald Gene Storm in 1949 and by one sister, Ira
Ella Storm. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Storm of Lampasas; one
daughter, Marcia Wallace of Lampasas; one sister, Bernice Perkins of
Killeen; one son, Steven Storm of Odessa; and five grandchildren.

Norman first enlisted in the Army
on 10 July 1944.
On 26 October 1945, Pfc Storm was
in a group of men transferred to Co D, 508th PIR from the 504th &
505th Parachute Infantry but the order didn't specify which regiment
each individual came from.
Pfc Storm re-enlisted on 10
November 1945. His final discharge date is not known. |
