Darold, a Florida native, enlisted at Camp Blanding, FL on 22 October 1942, just as the 508th was opening it's doors for business.

Pvt Stringfellow was assigned to Company E and completed jump school.  However, on 19 April 1943 he was removed from jump status and his name did not appear on 508th records after that change of status.
