Raymond Leslie Sutton was born on 9 September 1919 in Foch (Scurry county), Texas

Raymond initially enlisted in the Army on 15 January 1938 and raised his hand a second time at Ft Bliss, El Paso, TX on 15 January 1941.  at the time he was a Corporal in the Air Corps but volunteered for parachutist duty. After completion of jump school he was shipped to the ETO and may have seen action while with another airborne unit.

On 26 September 1944 SSgt Sutton was transferred from Hq 82nd AB Division, Leicester, England to Service Company, 508th PIR.  Just 10 days later, on 9 October, he was again transferred, this time to the 16th Replacement Depot APO 129 US Army.  The remainder of his service career is unknown.
