PAUL C. THOMAS

Paul C. Thomas, 89, passed away Oct. 15, 2001. Born Dec. 3, 1912 in Fort Ward, WA.

Paul was a WWII veteran, Purple Heart recipient of 82nd Airborne.

His wife, Beulah Thomas, of 27 years, preceded him. Paul is survived by three brothers and one sister, Lohman, Lloyd, Stanton Thomas, Joyce Dwynell; and three granddaughters, Chris McMaster, Debra Thomas, Ronda Bustamante..

Graveside services will be held October 20, 2001, 2:30pm, Mountain View Memorial Park, Tacoma.

Paul enlisted in the Army in Tacoma, WA on 8 June, 1942.

Pfc Thomas, a member of Company I, 508th,  parachuted into Normandy, France on D-Day, 6 June 1944 and was wounded that same day.  He was able to return to duty on 30 November 1944.

His military decorations include the Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman Badge, and the3 Bronze service Arrowhead device.
