HOWARD P. TIFFIN |
PAHOKEE TSgt. Howard Paul Tiffin, former Pahokee resident,
resident, recently received a commission as second lieutenant in
the U. S. Army, according to word received received by his uncle and aunt,
Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Schroder of Pahokee. Pahokee. Young Tiffin has been with
the glider infantry in. Western Germany and is now stationed in Belgium.

Lt. Howard Tiffin, former Pahokee Pahokee resident, has
arrived in Miami for a visit with relatives there, after 18 months
duty in the European Theater. He has re-enlisted for two years but will visit relatives in Pahokee

Lt Howard P. Tiffin is visiting relatives and friends in
Pahokee. Tiffin, a paratrooper in the 508th Parachute Infantry of the 82nd
Air Borne division, is on 30 days leave from the European theater.

Div has returned to Frankfurt Germany, after spending a 40-day leave with
relatives in Pahokee and Miami. He has re-enlisted until June. 1947.

PAHOKEE Lt. Howard Tiffin. paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne
Div has returned to Frankfurt Germany, after spending a 40-day leave with
relatives in Pahokee and Miami. He has re-enlisted until June. 1947.

Capt. Howard P. Tiffin, U. S. Army, former Pahokee
resident, was promoted to the rank of major on Dec. 15, according to word
received here by relatives. Major Tiffin was with the airborne troops on the
front line in Korea for 321 days before he was transferred to Southwest
Korea to serve as military adviser to a commanding officer of 4000 South
Korean troops assigned to that area to clean up 10,000 North Korean
guerrillas left behind the lines by advancing United Nations troops. During
the 181 days Major Tiffin was engaged in this clean-up action the ROK's killed 6000 guerillas with 2000
casualties to their own group and Major Tiffin received two
citations from the home minister for his work in this field. Major Tiffin is
scheduled to return to the United States under the new rotation
