DALE A. TITLER

Dale Alan Titler, Sr.


   Age 71 of Middletown, DE, died Friday, March 31, 2000 at his home surrounded by his family.
   A resident of Middletown, DE for the past 10 years, he and his family were former 29-year residents of Levittown, PA. Born September 17, 1928 in Hiller, PA, he served in the 82nd Air Bourne [sic] from 1951-53 and from 1960-63. Mr. Titler was an employee of General Motors in Trenton, NJ, retiring in 1990 after 28 years of service.
   Son of the late Mark and Lillian Titler, he is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Shirley A. (nee Calvin) Titler; 2 sons, Dale Titler, Jr. of Levittown, PA, Dan Titler of Morrisville, PA; and 1 daughter, Beth Johnson of Middletown, DE. Mr. Titler was the loving grandfather of Carrie, Amanda, Ashley, Heather, Matthew, Sara and Emily; and is also survived by his brothers, Guy Titler of Youngstown, OH and Clyde Titler of Brownsville, PA. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Jim Olson, Sarah Titler, Gladys Joseph, Lois Gatte, Glen, Mark, Roy and Ray Titler.
   His funeral service will be held 10 am Tuesday at JAMES J. DOUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown, PA. Interment will follow in Beechwood Cemetery, Bensalem, PA. Relatives and friends may call Monday evening, 7-9 pm and again Tuesday, 9-10 am at the funeral home.

Dale registered for the draft in Brownsville, PA on 17 September 1946

He served in the 508th ARCT from 1951-53 and had a second tour of duty with the 82nd Airborne from 1960-63.
