Grave marker for Leroy C. Toner in Section 2A, Site 800, Long
Island National Cemetery, Farmingdale (Suffolk county), New York.
Leroy enlisted in the Army at Fort Dix, NJ on 26 January
1942.
On 16 October 1942 Pvt Toner was transferred from the
507th PIR to Hq 1st, 508th PIR as a member of the Cadre team.
Pvt Toner was transferred to the 241st Parachute Infantry
to Fort Benning, GA. Nothing more is known of his service except that
based on his grave marker inscription he attained the rank of Sergeant. |
