WILLIAM T. TRACEY

Grave marker for William T. Tracey in the Wilson Cemetery, Newark (Licking county), Ohio.

William enlisted in the Army at Columbus. OH on 22 February 1943 and was transferred to Company H, 508th PIR.

Pvt Tracey was wounded in action on 21 September 1944 and evacuated to a field hospital. He did not return to the regiment.

Pvt Tracey received the Purple Heart for that wound and the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for Holland campaign and Airborne operations.

He was discharged on 18 December 1945.
