Joseph enlisted in the Army at
Fort Devens, MA on 19 August 1942.
The date of arrival for
Pvt Trumpaitis is unknown as the 1942 Morning Reports for Hq 2nd are not
available .
On 3 February 1943 he was
listed as attached to Hq & Hq Co 1st Bn and then 17 February he is shown as
attached to Company B although neither of those companies had corresponding
entries in their reports.
Pvt Trumpaitis completed jump school on 5 March 1943.
He was then transferred to the Parachute School's pool of
personnel and was possibly then sent to another parachute unit. |
