GEORGE P. UHL
George enlisted in the Army at New York City, NY on 4 January 1944. 

On 4 October 1944, Pvt Uhl was transferred from Hq 82nd Airborne to Service Company 508th PIR. 

Pvt Uhl was hospitalized at the 99th General Hospital, Reims, France on 9 November 1944 for an undisclosed reason classified as "Non-Battle".  He was returned to duty on 21 November.

He was wounded during the Battle of The Bulge on 8 January 1945. Although undated, the National Jewish Welfare Board record documenting wounding of Pvt George P. Uhl is presumed to be that same event..

Evacuated to a field hospital, he did not return to the regiment.  He was discharged on 24 March 1945. 

Hs military decorations include the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantryman Badge awarded for action during campaign, 18 December 1944 to 20 February 1945.
