RALEIGH L. VOIGHT
Raleigh Lee Voight Sr., 74, of the 2900 block of Kilbride Drive, a retired warehouseman, died Aug. 4, 1992, in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Voight was born in Whaleyville, Va. He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters, Dorothy Colley of Hampton and Diane Pierce of Aydlett, N.C.; four sons, Raleigh Voight Jr. of Fayetteville, N.C., John A. Voight of Alexandria, Robert A. Voight of Lake Charles, La., and Michael R. Voight of Chesapeake; a sister, Evelyn Hollowell of Portsmouth; and nine grandchildren.

The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Hampton National Cemetery. Friends may join the family from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel.

SSgt Voight was a member of Hq Company, 3rtd Battalion.  While a Pfc, he earned a Good Conduct Medal at Camp Mackall and the Combat Infantryman Badge in Normandy as well as a Bronze Star Medal.  The date of his Purple Heart award is unknown but may have been in Normandy as well.
