BEN E. WALLEN
 


Application for a grave marker and resulting stone for Ben E. Wallen in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock (Wayne county), Michigan.

Ben enlisted in the army at Detroit, MI on 2 December 1942.

On 16 December, Pvt Wallen was transferred from Camp Toccoa, GA to Hq 3rd, 508th PIR.

Pfc Wallen was wounded in action on 3 July 1944 and evacuated.  He rejoined the company on 27 September 1944 and was transferred to Service Company for light duty.

.Pfc Wallen was transferred back to Hq 3rd on 9 December 1944.

His military decorations include the Purple Heart and the Bronze Service Arrowhead device awarded for participation in Normandy assault.
