CALVIN WATTS
   Calvin Watts, 53, of 1220 18th St NW, Puyallup, died Friday. He was born in Tacoma and had resided in the area all his life.
   Mr. Watts was a PBX installer for Pacific Northwest Bell. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tacoma, where he served as an elder and was active in the Sunday school. He was a Little League T-ball coach and was an Army paratrooper during the Second World War.
   Survivors include his wife, Marallyn of the home, two daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Sydnie) Dickison of Puyallup and Mrs. Curtis (Elizabeth) Waffle of Kent, his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Watts of Tacoma; three brothers, Walter of Gig Harbor, George of Port Orchard and Thomas of McCleary; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Bailey of Puyallup, Mrs. Ann Walker of Tacoma and Mrs. Evelyn Piercy of Fircrest, and three grandchildren.
   Buckley-King Mortuary is in charge.

Calvin enlisted in the Army at Seattle, WA on 22 October 1943 and was inducted into service on 12 November 1943.

On 10 August 1944, Pvt Watts was transferred from the 11th Replacement depot to Company F, 508th PIR.

On 1 February 1945, Pvt Watts was evacuated to a field hospital classed as a non-battle casualty.  he returned to duty on 28 February.

He was placed on Detached Service with the IX Troop Carrier Command Pathfinder School on  16 March 1945 and returned to the company on 31 march 1945.

Pfc Watts was transferred to the 506th PIR on 13 October 1945 and was discharged on 22 January 1946.

On 31 January 1947, Calvin married Marallyn Margaret Myrick.

Calvin died in a traffic accident on 9 December 1977.

*(Note that Marallyn's surname on the marker is Kenagy.  Following Calvin's death she actually remarried twice and lost both of those husbands to death as well.
