Grave marker for Paul E. Webb in the Oller Cemetery, Delaware (Delaware county), Ohio.

Paul enlisted in the Army on 15 October 1942 and was assigned to Company D, 508th PIR.

Pvt Webb was seriously wounded in action on 14 June 1944.  Billy McClure [also Co D, now deceased] stated in a Phil Nordyke book interview "The shrapnel went into the side of Paul’s face and came out of his mouth. It took a lot of his teeth and part of his lips."

Evacuated to a field hospital, Pvt Webb was transferred to the Parachute Replacement Regiment Ft Benning, GA on 20 July 1944 for further treatment.

.He was discharged on 29 April 1945'

His military decorations include the Purple Heart and the Combat Infantryman badge for action during Normandy, France Campaign, 6 June 1944 to 9 July 1944.
