Grave marker for Charles A. Weberg in Plot P, I1 of the Willamette National Cemetery, Portland (Multnomah county), Oregon.

Charles enlisted in the Army at Portland, OR on 14 October 1943.  Following completion of jump school Pvt Weberg was sent to the 11th Replacement Depot APO 131

On 10 August 1944 Pvt Weberg was transferred to Company "I", 508th PIR, Nottingham, England.  He jumped into Holland on 17 September 1944 and sent through Operation Market-Garden unscathed.  He was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations.

However, he was seriously wounded in action on 7 January 1945 and evacuated to a field hospital.  On 10 April 1945, still needing continued treatment, he was transferred to the hospital's Detachment of Patients.  He did not return to the regiment.

Pvt Weberg was awarded the Purple Heart.
