DONALD WHITE

Donald White, 78, passed away peacefully March 10, 1999, surrounded by his beloved family.

A lifetime resident of Akron, Don was employed by the U.S. Post Office, retiring in 1972.

He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 82nd Airborne. He was also a lifetime member of Annunciation Church, active in its Holy Name Society and many other parish organizations.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Dolores; infant daughter, Kathleen; daughter-in-law, Ruth; brother Jack; and sister, Mary Ellen Moore. He is survived by his devoted children, daughter and son-in-law, Patti and David Nawrocky of Stow; son and daughter-in-law, John and Carolyn White of Akron; son, Donnie of Akron; cherished grandchildren, Kristie (fiance, Matt Spiegel) and Julie Nawrocky, Phillip and Sarah White, and David Allen White; dear in-laws, Bobbie Cosgrove, Ann and Al Brunner, and Jeannie and Chuck Brunn; and many loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Don lived his life deeply dedicated to his family, his country, and his faith. He saw only the best in all things and never lost his endearing optimism. We were blessed to call him "Dad."

Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Saturday at Annunciation Church. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Hummel Funeral Home, 500 E. Exchange St., from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday. Memorials may be made to the Memorial Fund of Annunciation Church. "May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back; and, until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand." (Hummel, a Golden Rule Funeral Home, 253-6126.)
