ROBERT J. WILLIAMS

Mr. Robert J. "Willie" Williams of 326 Falling Tree Road, Fayetteville, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, in N.C. State Veterans Nursing Home in Fayetteville at the age of 82. Mr. Williams was born in New Hanover County on July 13, 1924, to the late Robert and Lucy Rivenbark Williams.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Arran Lakes Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Jeff Isenhour will officiate the service. Burial will be in Lafayette Memorial Park. He was a charter member of Arran Lakes Baptist Church.

Mr. Williams served in the Army during World War II in the 101st Airborne Division. He was also employed with various automobile dealerships in the area.

He was a loving and caring person who had a strong bond with his family and friends. Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his wife, Frances English Williams; and a daughter, Jeanette Williams. He is survived by two sons, Roger L. Williams and his wife, Wanda, of Raeford, and Ronald B. Williams of Sanford; a daughter, Kaye W. McDonald and her husband, Warren, of Fayetteville; two brothers, Harris D. Williams of Fayetteville and William B. Williams and his wife, Bobbi, of Sun City West, Ariz.; a sister, Lila W. Creasey of Richmond, Va.; and three grandchildren, Jeff McDonald, Matt McDonald and Amber Williams.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Crumpler Funeral Home, 131 Harris Ave., Raeford; and at other times at the home of Roger Williams, 1109 N. Main St., Raeford.
