MONROE E. WILLS

WILLS, Monroe E. Wills, 90 died December, 30,2008 after an extended illness. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Jeanette, son Jerry and his wife Kathleen Wills; three wonderful grandchildren: Samuel Monroe Wills Los Angles, California. Whitney Elizabeth Wills and Partner Mobile, Alabama. Jerry E Wills Jr and his wife Suzanne Montgomery, Alabama; three step-grandchildren, Skylar Baker, Tyler Moody, Tayler Moody and dear family friend Grant "James Lewis" Sullivan. Also, brothers Joe Fred and Paul, and sisters Helen, Grace, and Ernestine. Monroe served honorably in World War II where he was awarded the purple heart with the 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment. The 509th was the first Parachute Infantry Regiment to face combat in the history of the U.S. Army. after the war,Monroe was one of only 50 survivors out of 700 original members of that historic 509 unit. GERONIMO! Monroe will be missed by his family and many friends Grave side services will be held in Hartford AL at 2.00 p.m. on January 1st 2009.
