HARDY O. WILSON

Funeral Services for Mr. Hardy O. Wilson, Sr., 85, of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00 PM Sunday, April 11, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe with Rev. Andy Myrick officiating. Interment will follow at Brooklyn Cemetery in Chatham, LA.

Mr. Wilson was born on October 6, 1924 in Kelly, LA and passed away on April 7, 2010 in West Monroe, LA.

He served in the United States Army as a Paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne during WWII. He served as a Sergeant with 101st Airborne during the Korean Conflict and as a Chief Warrant Officer during Vietnam before retiring in December 1966 as a Chief Warrant Officer 2. Mr. Wilson then retired from Manville Paper Co.

Mr. Wilson was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved his Country, his garden, red roses and being in the wind by riding his Harley. Also, he had a passion for Rebel football and The Saints.

He is survived by his long-time companion, Barbara Morgan; children, Hardy O. Wilson, Jr., Douglas E. Wilson, Sr. and his wife Pat, and Cheryl Wilson; step-daughter, Lauragail Rogillo and her husband Gary; step-sons, James Morgan and Bobby Morgan; sister, Martha Lee Haley; grandchildren, Michelle Gallagher and husband Mike, Daniel Caples, Douglas E. Wilson, Jr. and his wife Cheree , Jessica Caples and her daughter, Jacey Caples, Jeffrey Wilson and his wife Crystal, and Dawn Wilson; step-grandchildren, Lynn and Chris Fabian, Nicole Rogillo, Whitney Rogillo, Gary M. Rogillo, Jacob Morgan, James Morgan, Jr., Tristie Silk; 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Tom Tolbert, George Anzelmo, Gary Rogillo, Jeffrey Wilson, Chris Fabian, Gary Morgan Rogillo, Jacob Morgan, and Jonathan Caples.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Saturday, April 8, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. Online Registry/Condolence: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com

Grave marker for Hardy O. Wilson in the Brooklyn Cemetery, Chatham (Jackson Parish), Louisiana.

While a member of H Company, 508th, Pfc Wilson was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for the Holland campaign and Airborne operations.
