FRANK C. WIRTZ

 Frank C. Wirtz Sr. of Mountain Home
   Frank C. Wirtz Sr. of Mountain Home died Sunday (June 2, 1996) at Baxter County Regional Hospital. He was 70.
   Visitation will be 9 a.m.- 9 p.m. Wednesday at Roller Funeral Home with the family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. There will be a! vigil service at 7;30 p.m. Wednesday at Roller Funeral Home Chapel,
  Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church by the Rev. Gregory Hart. Burial will be private. Survivors include his wife Florence, at home; two sons, Frank C. Wirtz Jr. of Houston and Craig Wirtz of Tulsa, Okla.; his father Peter Henry Wirtz of Park Ridge; one brother, Peter J. Wirtz of Zion; two granddaughters, Melissa and Sarah Wirtz of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.    He was preceded in death by his mother Elizabeth Vansag Wirtz.
   Mr. Wirtz was a machinist. He'd also been a fireman and a policeman in LaGrange,
   He was an Illinois native, born in Chicago Jan. 20, 1926. He served as an airborne paratrooper and interpreter during World War II. He married the former Florence J. Janek July 5, 1952, in Chicago. Mr. Wirtz was a member of Alley-White American Legion Post 52 and St. Peter's.
   Memorials may be made to the March of Dimes.

Pvt Wirtz was transferred from the 101st Airborne Division to Company I 508th PIR on 19 October 1945.
