FREDERICK E. WITTY

NORTH BROOKFIELD -- Frederick E. Witty, 76, of 166 Summer St., a World War II veteran and a retired toolmaker, died Sunday, March 10, in Providence House of Southbridge. His wife, Barbara M. (Kenneway) Witty, died in 2001.

He leaves a sister, Margaret Elwell of Sprucehead, Maine. He was born in New London, Conn., son of Ernest F. and Helen E. (Herbert) Witty, and lived 35 years in North Brookfield. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in Europe and Africa. Mr. Witty was a toolmaker at John Bath Co., Worcester, before retiring. He was a member of North Brookfield Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, in J. Henri Morin & Son Funeral Home, 23 Maple Terrace, Spencer. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Leicester. A calling hour is 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 14, in the funeral home.
