LEO J. WOODS

Grave marker fo Leo J. Woods in Plot KW 1414 in the Brig. Gen. Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown (Burlington county), New Jersey.

Leo enlisted in the Army at New York City, NY on 7 October 1943 and volunteered for parachutist duty.

On 10 August 1944 Pvt Woods was transferred from the 11th Replacement Depot to Hq 3rd, 508th PIR.

Leo was listed as injured in action on 1 February 1945 but returned to duty.

On 31 May 1945 Pfc Woods was transferred to the 17th Airborne Division.

Leo's service was recognized by the State of New York on 21 May 1947 when he was awarded the New York State Conspicuous Service Medal.
