ELMER S. WOOTEN

Twin Falls --- Elmer S. Wooten, 78, life-tine resident of Twin Falls and Jerome Counties, passed away Saturday in a Boise hospital. 

At Elmer's request there will be no services. A private memorial service will be held at a later date for immediate family members.  Cremation is under the direction of Riverside Cremation and Burial, Garden City, Boise.

 


Grave marker for Elmer S. Wooten and spouse in Morris Hill Cemetery, Boise (Ada county), Idaho.  An outdoorsman, the face of the stone features a Jeep while the obverse shows his wife Betty waiting by a fire with their dog "Dude" while Elmer and son are fly-fishing in the stream.

Elmer enlisted in the Army at Attica, IN on 24 June 1944 and volunteered for parachutist duty.

On 23 April 1945, Pvt Wooten was transferred from the 51st Reinforcement battalion to Hq 1st, 508th PIR.

Pfc Wooten re-enlisted on 5 December 1945 and was discharged on 12 March 1948
