EDWARD C. WORMAN

Grave marker for Edward C. Worman and spouse in  Riverside Memorial Park, Jacksonville (Duval county), Florida.

Edward transferred as a Pfc from the Rational Guard to the Army at Crookston, MN on 10 February 1941.

On 25 February 1943 Edward was commissioned as a second lieutenant and was stationed with the 3rd Regiment at Fort Meade, MD.  On 7 September 1944 Edward was married to Sarah Smith in Fairfax, VA.

The newlyweds had little time together as Edward was shipped to the ETO.  On 27 October 1944 Lt, Worman was transferred from the 82nd AB Division, Leicester England, to Service Company, 508th PIR.  He was transferred to Company  A on 28 November 1944 with he  principal duty of an Assistant Platoon Leader..

He went into combat with the regiment on 18 December 1944 as the Battle of The Bulge erupted.  On 2 February 1945 he was evacuated to a field hospital classed as a non-battle casualty ad was able to rejoin the company on 18 February.

2nd Lt Worman was transferred to HQ 82d Airborne Division on  28 May 1945 and was discharged on 23 November 1945.

His first marriage ended at some point and he married Mary Mary E Guerry in Duval county, FL on 1 October 1959.  It is she whose name is on the grave marker with him.
