SIDNEY J. WYNNE

  Sidney Jack Wynne, 76, Sun City, Arizona, passed away June 4, 2002.  He was born July 18, 1925 i Whiteville, Tennessee.  WWII Army Veteran.  He was a Kennel supervisor for Maricopa Animal Rabies Control for 18 years. Survivors include his wife, Inez, 4 step children, 4sisters and 1 brother.

Visitation: 2-4, Monday, June 10, 2002 at Maryvale Mortuary Chapel, 7901 W. Indian School Rd., Phoenix, AZ.  Services: 1 pm. Tuesday, June 11, 2002 at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, 23029 N. Cave Creek Rd., Phoenix, AZ 85020.

Sidney enlisted in the Army at Fort Oglethorpe, GA on 20 October 1943.

On 9 February 1945, Pvt Wynne was transferred from the 3rd Replacement Depot to Company I, 508th PIR.

Pvt Wynne was wounded in action in Central germany just three days after joining with Company I

His military decorations include the Purple Heart, Bronze Service Arrowhead device for action during Rhineland Campaign, from 9 Feb 1945 and the Good Conduct Medal.
