Grave marker for Siegfried Wyss, Jr. in Green Crest Memorial Park, Sheridan (Yamhill county), Oregon.

Siegfried enlisted in the Army at Portland, OR on 12 December 1943.

Pvt Wyss was transferred from Hq 82nd Airborne Division to Service Company, 508th PIR on 29 September 1944.

On 26 January 1945 Pvt Wyss was evacuated to a field hospital and was classed as a non-battle casualty.

On 30 May 1945 he was dropped from the 508th rolls and transferred to the Department of Patients at an unnamed hospital.  He did not return to the regiment and was discharged on 22 January 1946.

Hs military decorations include the Combat Infantryman Badge awarded for action during the campaign, 18 Dec 1944 to 20 Feb 1945.
