Loren was a member of the 508th Band during WW-II (note
the ♫ music symbol on his
headstone). At this
point there is no information available regarding any connection between
his surname and that of the cemetery. |
Loren L. Yaggy, 85, Fort Wayne, a musical teacher and
pianist, died Saturday, March 11, 2000, at St. Joseph Hospital.
The Woodburn native received two gold medals and one silver medal in an
international piano competition, was past president of the Indiana Music
Teachers Association, and past president of Private Teachers
International. He also served in the military during World War II. He
was an active member of Voters Opposing Intrusive Statutes.
"He was most proud of his original spelling system - Sonicks."
Surviving are his wife, Marian of Fort Wayne; his brother, Leon of
Eugene, Ore.; and a niece.
Private services will be held.
