ROGER B. YOUNG

(courtesy of  Emily Jordan)

Grave marker for Roger B. Young in Section Q of the El Reno Cemetery, El Reno (Canadian county), Oklahoma.

Roger enlisted in the army at Oklahoma City, OK on 8 March 1943 and after completion of jump school he was sipped overseas.

On 29 September 1944 Pvt Young was transferred from 82nd Airborne Hq to Service Company, 508th PIR.  He was subsequently transferred top Co F on 27 October.

Pvt Young was hospitalized on 12 February 1945, perhaps due to frostbite as he was classified as a non battle casualty.

On 10 May 1945 the Private was transferred to another unnamed hospital but on 28 May he was transferred back to Company F from the 19th Reinforcement Depot.

No further available records within the 508th are available regarding Roger's military service but according to his grave marker inscription he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant prior to discharge.

On 9 September 1958 Roger Young was admitted to Agana, the capitol of the United States territory of Guam.

The purpose of his trip is unknown.
