DAVID G. ZACK
Zack, David G. Jr., 85, of Montague, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010 at Heartland Health Care Center in Whitehall.

He was born Aug. 9, 1925 in Reed City to David and Catherine (Hoffman) Zack. He spent his formative years in Whitehall and Muskegon. He married Dona Danenberg March 1, 1947.

Mr. Zack was proud to serve with the 82nd Airborne Division of the Army during WWII. He was a life member of the White Lake VFW. He was employed by Teledyne Continental Motors for 43 years before his retirement. He lived in Shelby many years before moving back to Whitehall upon retirement. He lived in rural Montague later. Mr. Zack enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years.

He is survived his wife, Dona; his children, Tim (Sue) Zack, Ted Zack, Kitty (Pete) Groendyk, Tom (Pat) Zack, Betty (Ric) Siegel, and Bob (Donna) Zack; sisters, Betty Cordo, Viola Walsh and Jo Cowles; four half- sisters and one half-brother; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert Bud Zack. Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church in Rothbury.

David enlisted in the Army on March 5, 1943 in Santa Ana, CA and subsequently served in H Company, 504th PIR as well as C Company 508th PIR.
