EUGENE A. ZYLKA

Grave marker for Eugene A. Zylka in Section H, Site 584 of the Wood National Cemetery, Milwaukee (Milwaukee county), Wisconsin.

Eugene enlisted in the Army on 16 March 1943, probably in Milwaukee.

Pvt Zylka joined up with the 508th at Camp Mackall and became a member of Company E on 26 October 1943 when he was transferred from the 508th's Rear Detachment.

He was promoted to Pfc on 5 August 1944 and was awarded the Bronze Service Arrowhead device for participation in Normandy assault.

Pfc Zylka was discharged on 26 December 1945.
