Tec/5 Albert Koch was examined at the 97th General Hospital to determine whether he had fractured his left shoulder.
The shoulder was apparently dislocated but not fractured based on x-rays taken.
The cause of the injury is not known but might have occurred while playing in a sport or during a practice jump.
Since the injury fell on Feb 22, 1946, which was a Friday, sports may be ruled out although it could have been a practice day.
A simpler explanation, perhaps, is that it was winter and he may have slipped on an icy sidewalk.
