Pocket Guide To Northern Ireland
was probably handy for every G.I. as he wandered about on pass in Northern Ireland.
For most, this was their first experience in a foreign land.  Customs as well as local lilt of the tongue were all a novelty.

Pre-Censored For Mailing
While the booklet at left was probably furnished by the Irish, the booklet shown above seems to have a distinct American touch - and, it is already approved to send to the folks back home.  What better way to confirm what had been told in letters earlier than to have this lonely troop slogging through mud in a driving rain and the goal of the (somewhat) warm Nissen hut in the distance?

Dedicated to The Irish
The 82nd makes special note of the fact that the men have been treated like family and the warmth will not be forgotten.

Souvenir Photos
in small albums such as this were undoubtedly send home by many troops.

Belfast's Grand Opera House
was the setting for a production called "This Is The Army"

British Service Charities Commission
hosted of the event.
