Pvt William K. Jordan, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Stokes, 1022 Edison Street, is now a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry, in training at Camp Mackall, N.C.  He joined the Army Oct 30, 1942 and won his wings as a U.S. Parachutist March 5, 1943.  Before entering the service, he was employed at York Lock and Safe Co.

RECEIVES ASSIGNMENT
   Assignment of Private Stanley E. Stevens, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank M. Stevens, 618 Fourth Street to the 508th Parachute Infantry, in combat training at Camp Mackall, N. C., was reported today.  Private Stevens joined the army in October last year and earned his parachutist wings in March.  He was a student in Ceres High School and was employed at Mare island Navy Yard before entering service.

When Sergeant John Kersh returned to camp after visiting his parents, Prof, and Mrs. L. C. Kersh at their Autaugaville home last week he found his rating raised from Staff Sgt to Tech. Sergeant. John has charge of parachute riggers in the Service Company . 508th Parachute Reg. at Camp Mack-all. We are very proud indeed of this promotion for him, and it just goes to show that he is just a chip off the old block for L. C. is a pretty smart old fellow himself..

Staff Sergeant Marcel A. Wenzel, former student at San Mateo Junior college and son of Mrs. Madeline Wenzel, Box 888, Belmont, now is a member of the 508th parachute infantry in combat training at Camp Mackall, North Carolina.
   He joined the army last November and won his wings as a parachutist in March.  Before entering the service he was an employee of Barrett and Hitp, contractors.

Pfc William H. Bullock is now a member of the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment in training a Camp Mackall, NC.  His mother, Mrs.. C. J. Bullock lives at 510 S. Martin, Kilgore.  He joined the Army in October, 1942, and won his wings as a United States parachutist in February, 1943.

Private Thomas H. Klemick, husband of Mrs. Donna Klemick, Shamokin Street, Trevorton, has won the right to wear the wings and boots of the United States Army paratroops. He completed four which time he made five Jumps, the weeks of jump training during last a tactical jump at night involving a combat problem on landing. He trained at Fort Benning, Ga.
