The following list of assignments was published in the Devils Digest, July 17, 1943 while the regiment was at Camp Mackall.


Having passed the test and been accepted by the field Army Specialized Training Board more members of our regiment have turned in their boots and taken off for the classification center from where they will be assigned to a school.

Pvt. John Macki of Regt. Hq. Co. and Pvt. Stanley Wagner of 2nd Hq. Co. left on July 8 and four days later the following men left: From service company; Pvt. Joseph Boner, Cpl. John Boone, Pvt. Joseph Britch, Pvt. Earl Cornwall, Pvt. Joseph Conklin, and Pvt. Elmer Johnson. From "B" company: Sgt. Kenneth Hammond and Sgt. Johnn [sic] De Noon. From "G" company; Sgt. John Callahan, Pvt. Evan Confrey, Cpl. Paul Curry, Pfc. Columbo De Paulis, and Pvt Theasis C. Duncan.

On July 17 another 18 men pulled stakes and headed in the same direction. They are as follows: Pvt. Henry F. Bailey, Cpl. Henry F. Bradfield, Pvt. Michael O'Shea of "F" company: Cpl. William T. Bennett. Cpl. Richard C. Reardon, and Pvt. Karl Schaffer Jr. of "E" Company, Cpl. Aldo Bettelli of 2nd Bn. Hq. Co.

Pfc. Herman A. Brown of Medical Detachment: Pvt. Lawrence W. Otta of company "B": Pfc. Stanley W. Solley and Pfc. James O. Wood of "A" company; Pvt. Edward T. Shea of I Company; Pvt. Donald A. Shuffield of Reg. Hq. Co.; Pvt. Forrest C. Simmons and Pfc. Jack Worn of "H" company; T-5 James L. Staley of Service company; Pvt. Silvio C. Volpe of 1st Bn. Hq. Co.; and Pvt. Gearhart H. Weber of "C" company.
