(Gavin) Fauntleroy thanks General Petraeus for his comments and
quotations taken from her father's letters home. The general
had seen a great parallel in Gen. Gavin's remarks on his troops as
still being pertinent today.

 Lt
Gen (Ret) Richard Seitz and General David Petraeus
shared a few moments talking over common interests. In 1943
Seitz was given command of the
2nd Battalion of the 517th Parachute Infantry and took the battalion
overseas fighting in Italy, France, Belgium, and Germany. For
their actions in the St. Vith sector, 2/517 (Task Force Seitz) was
nominated for a Presidential Distinguished Unit Citation.
